Stuart H. Memory was born in Montgomery, Alabama and continues to call it “home.”  He earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in 2009 and, in 2015, obtained his dual J.D./LL.M. from Faulkner University, Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, and the University of Alabama School of Law.    Stuart is a member of the Alabama State Bar.

Stuart joined the Firm in 2015, where he practices bankruptcy law, corporate law, and estate planning.  The focuses of his practice include defending debtors, representing Chapter 7 trustees, advising businesses, and drafting wills and trusts. 

When not in the office, Stuart enjoys spending time with his wife, Stephanie, and their dog, Royce.  In his spare time, Stuart competes in triathlons, reads books, and flies a Cessna 172.  Stuart also serves on the board of directors of two charitable foundations in the River Region and is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.


Von G. Memory was born in Orem, Utah and grew up in Springville, Utah. He currently resides with his wife, Glenda, in Cecil, Alabama. He earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and later obtained his Juris Doctorate from Samford University, Cumberland School of Law, 1974.

Von is the founding member of Memory & Day and currently practices bankruptcy and corporate law. The focus of his practice includes Chapter 11 bankruptcies, representing Chapter 7 trustees, creditor’s rights, and as a business consultant. Also, Von previously served as a Chapter 7 Trustee.

When not in the office, Von attends to and cares for his gentleman’s farm, reads books, and flies his Cessna 172. Von is also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a “Mormon” missionary in Montgomery and Prattville, Alabama, 1967.

Wm. Wesley Causby earned his law degree in 2013 from Faulkner University, Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, where he graduated summa cum laude, achieved the highest grade in eight of his classes, and served on law review. Born and raised in Sylva, North Carolina, Wes previously studied history at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and earned his bachelor’s degree in 2007.

Wes has been a member of the Alabama State Bar since 2013. He served as law clerk to the Honorable William R. Sawyer, Chief United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Middle District of Alabama, from 2014 to 2016, and confronted numerous legal issues in the fields of bankruptcy, property law, and contract law. Wes joined the Firm in 2016 and represents debtors, creditors, and trustees in bankruptcy. He also drafts wills and trusts for the purpose of estate planning.

 In his free time, Wes enjoys boating, swimming, running, hiking, watching movies and live theater, and reading books.
James L. Day James L. Day is a 1974 graduate of Ohio State University and obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Ball State University in 1986. Jim earned his Juris Doctor in 1998 from Faulkner University, Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. He has practiced bankruptcy since 1998, and has handled numerous Chapter 11 cases in the Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama. Jim has been with the firm since 2000.  He is retired from the United States Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel and Command Pilot.
